Original Abstract
Deng et al. [1] report a multicentre randomised trial comparing ultrasonic elastography-guided pleural biopsy (UEPB) with traditional thoracic ultrasound-guided pleural biopsy (TUSPB) for diagnosing malignant pleural effusion (MPE). The study addresses an important clinical problem, and the authors are commended for this head-to-head comparison. However, several aspects of reporting would help readers better judge the robustness and validity of the findings.
